ABOUT sarah
Tennis runs deep in my family. My great-great-aunt played in the 1908 Olympic Games, my aunt was a top pro player and competed at Wimbledon for 13 years, my mom was a top Canadian national champion for over 17 years, and my dad excelled as a junior in the UK.
Despite this legacy, my parents encouraged me to explore various sports, allowing me to appreciate the unique demands of each. At the age of ten, I discovered my passion for tennis, quickly rising to become a top Canadian junior and later achieving a top 10 British singles ranking and a WTA pro ranking in the early 300s, before an injury led me to retire and focus on fitness and helping others.
At first my focus was fitness training for athletes of all sports but started getting lots of requests to work specifically with Tennis athletes. Eventually students wanted more than just fitness so I started on court training and beyond. Fast forward to today and I am the Director and Head coach of High Performance programs at a top Canadian Tennis club.

my passion is to help aspiring individuals develop into the complete tennis athlete equipped with the skills and mindset needed for success in today's game

"Sarah was a member of my support team during the 2009/10 WTA Montreal tournaments.
She has a very good understanding of athlete support elements, understanding the physiological and nutrition aspects to a high level.
At times and when needed she could also extend her support to on court feeding.
As a previous competing player she also understands the broader needs of a touring player and also delivered the elements very well.
She also has the ability to work as a team member and worked very well under the lead of my head coach Nick Severino during the 2010 tournament."

what parents have to say
Coach Sarah started to coach our two boys in the winter of 2023, a few months after we moved from Chile. From the very beginning, Sarah’s vast experience as a former WTA player and coach was made evident. Sarah’s keen eye for technique quickly began to impact both Ray’s and Michael’s tennis. She has the capacity to help her students assimilate her methodology through patience and a variety of exercises. Sarah’s training in kinesiology, nutrition, and fitness makes her tennis coaching a holistic practice, always helping her players stay healthy and physically prepare for demanding matches and tournaments. However, Sarah’s coaching goes beyond the indispensable technical and physical aspects of tennis. Her training in mental coaching gives a unique but necessary facet to a tennis coach. She has the ability to prepare her players to handle pressure and frustration, always focusing on the positive aspects of the tennis development process. Finally, Coach Sarah is always available to answer questions or give advice to her players through messages or phone calls. Her availability makes it clear that she is very interested in and involved in her students’ progress. As a parent, I cannot help but strongly recommend that families trust Coach Sarah as their tennis coach if they want to see their children flourish in tennis. Any parent who knows tennis will readily agree with our testimony.

Our daughter Emily is now 22 years old and living her childhood dream of playing college tennis at MTU. At 16, however that dream seemed over when she was diagnosed with a spinal stress fracture and bulging disc. There were days when she couldn't get out of bed. Throughout her recovery Sarah was much more than a coach. She adapted every session to Emily's abilities, helping her rebuild her strength, confidence and love for the game. On days she couldn't train physically , they focused on strategy and the mental side of competition. As her body healed, Sarah carefully rebuilt her strength without ever compromising her recovery. When Emily returned to the court she was physically stronger, mentally tougher and prepared better than ever before to compete. Sarah is much more than an exceptional trainer, she has a rare gift of seeing the athlete beyond the injury and helping them become stronger in all areas. The fact that Emily is living her dream today is a testament not only to her own determination but to Sarah's unwavering belief, expertise and ability to guide her through one of the most difficult chapters in her young life. As parents we will always be greatful.

As Natalie’s mom, the hardest part was watching her deal with pain, countless physio sessions, and the frustration of falling behind, because of her injury, and what she knew she could achieve. When Natalie decided to start training with her left hand, Sarah immediately supported her and gave her the confidence that she could come back stronger. Sarah is not only a coach of the highest level, but a wise and kind mentor. She knew exactly what Natalie needed to hear to keep her believing in herself and in tennis. Natalie trusts Sarah completely, and that trust carried her through the toughest physical and mental moments. I’ve also seen Sarah’s impact on the whole team. A coach or teacher can either inspire kids or shut them down. With Sarah, Natalie comes home inspired — even after a hard day. What sets Sarah apart is her holistic approach. She builds endurance and resilience in her players, not just technique. We are deeply grateful to Sarah for turning a devastating injury into an opportunity for growth. Because of her, Natalie didn’t give up — she became a more resilient and determined person, and she’s still building her game every day.
